As the official oil partner of MasterChef South Africa Season 6, currently airing on e.tv on Sundays at 18:00, B-well played on the format of the show, and challenged some of Cape Town’s top creators, media and the Cape Town based MasterChef South Africa contestants to an unforgettable evening where participants were tasked to work in teams and serve up award-worthy plates with the newly CANSA-endorsed B-well Mayo as the star ingredient.

“We exist to celebrate South Africa’s creativity and talent through cooking by providing ingredients for better eating,” said Murishca Martheze, Marketing Manager at B-well. “As first-time cooking oil partner of MasterChef South Africa, our aim is to ignite the love of CIY (cook-it-yourself) and remind consumers that prioritising your health with smart food swaps does not mean that you have to compromise on taste, ever. B-well is the perfect sous chef to help elevate any meal.”

The evening ignited a spark for connection, laughter and a shared love of expanding culinary horizons. “The evening was electric. We wanted to give creators and media a taste of what it is like to be a MasterChef South Africa contestant without the pressure of being a true genius in the kitchen,” said Martheze. “There were many takeaways about how important your choice of ingredients is – beyond flavour, they play a meaningful role in your overall health. Choosing products with real benefits can make a big difference and inspire better living.”

Teams competed against the clock with Greek food recipes – inspired by the movie Mamma Mia and B-well’s Mamma Mayo campaign – integrating locally made canola-rich B-well mayo.  Each team also had the opportunity to nominate their culinary winner, and those contestants walked away with a prize to kickstart or boost their health journey’s.

“The energy and excitement in the room were magnetic – a testament that our brand and product range resonates with everyday home-cooks but qualified chefs too,” concludes Martheze. “Cooking in a pair or group can be so fun, after all, cooking in South Africa has always been about more than food – it’s about connection, culture and coming together – which is exactly what we did.”
