Mzansi’s most exciting grassroots football showcase is back! The DStv eKasi Champ of Champs returns for its fourth consecutive year, kicking off from July 17 to 27, with a new home in Pretoria. Known for spotlighting raw, township talent and flamboyant diski flair, this year’s tournament promises more action, more skill, and unmatched kasi pride.
The 2025 edition features eight dynamic teams from Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and Limpopo, all battling it out for the coveted R250 000 cash prize. The round-robin phase will unfold in Soshanguve, while the semi-finals and finals will heat up Mabopane during the final weekend.
Among the teams making headlines are the ever-flashy Skepe Nketole FC—better known as the Chopper Boys—and Mudagasi FC, 2024 Philly’s Games champions. Also competing are crowd favourites from across the country: Isithembiso FC, Molototsi United, COVID-19 FC, Masokolaar FC, Jukulyn FC, and Ladysmith Juventus FC. Each team earned their spot by winning regional qualifiers in areas like Soweto, Hammanskraal, the East Rand, and the Vaal.
Cameron Mathebula, Chief Operations Officer at Philly’s Games, expressed excitement about the tournament’s evolution:

As part of DStv’s ongoing commitment to grassroots sports, the tournament will be broadcast live on SuperSport channels 202 and 209, under the “Home of Diski” banner.
The tournament kicks off on Thursday, July 17 with COVID-19 FC vs. Mudagasi FC at 11:00, followed by Jukulyn FC vs. Isithembiso FC at 13:00, and Skepe Nketole FC vs. Masokolaar FC at 15:00.
