It’s no surprise that Uyanda Hlangabezo, better known as Honey Badger, was one of the most loved figures at Durban July 2025, especially with the theme “Marvels of Mzansi”. Voted the most celebrated celebrity on our Serving Couture, Culture, and Confidence post, Badger stood out not just for his impeccable style, but for his ability to embody the very essence of South Africa’s beauty, culture, and history.
For his first look, he turned heads in a three-piece suit complete with a dramatic cape. His “Marvels of Mzansi” look was inspired by the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture of South Africa.

Badger’s second look, “The Blaze,” was a bold tailored black and gold suit that captured the powerful contrast between South Africa’s raw resources and its transformative potential.
- Black and Gold: The black symbolises the raw potential of South Africa — a nod to coal, one of the country’s most vital resources. The gold, however, represents the transformation of these resources into wealth, value, and richness. This duality mirrors the growth of Mzansi itself, from humble beginnings to a nation of power and influence.
The suit encapsulated the rawness and transformation that define South Africa’s core minerals, making it a perfect tribute to the theme of Marvels of Mzansi.
For his third look, Badger honoured the legacy of Nelson Mandela with a striking cape suit emblazoned with Madiba’s image. A fitting tribute to one of Mzansi’s greatest heroes, this look was King Badger’s way of celebrating the marvellous impact Madiba had on South Africa and the world.
Describing the look, King Badger said: “Celebrating Madiba’s Marvellous Impact. I’m honoured to be paying this tribute to a hero who is nothing less than a Marvel of Mzansi.”
