Africa’s most celebrated R&B experience, Strictly Soul makes its highly anticipated return to Johannesburg on Friday, August 29.
This special Women’s Month edition promises an unforgettable evening of smooth R&B, electric energy, and a lineup that celebrates the power of women in music.
Strictly Soul has grown into Africa’s biggest R&B gathering, known for creating safe, vibrant spaces where fans connect through their love for the genre. This August, the spotlight shines on women: from the DJs on stage to the soul-loving community that has shaped Strictly Soul’s identity.
The all-female DJ lineup features some of the most exciting names in the game: Ayanda MVP, Coco Brown, DJ Brown Sugar, and Miss Cosmo. Together, they will deliver expertly crafted sets, blending Old School favourites with the freshest sounds of contemporary R&B, Afrobeats, and Neo Soul.
“Women are at the heart of the Strictly Soul community. This Women’s Month, we wanted to honour that by curating a lineup reflecting women’s strength, talent, and unapologetic spirit in music,” says Akio Kawahito, Founder and Music Curator for Strictly Soul.
“Strictly Soul is an experience. It’s a safe space for women to be themselves – whether enjoying a girls’ night out, celebrating a special occasion, or simply taking some well-deserved downtime.”

From timeless classics to today’s freshest drops, Strictly Soul brings people together under one groove, building a space that’s as stylish as it is soulful.
With previous editions held in cities across nine African countries, the events has steadily built a Pan African footprint. The event will be running from 19:00 until 01:00 at La Parada, Rosebank.
