The Ulundi-born producer teams up with Pianola SA on production and taps gospel powerhouse Andile Mbili as well as fast-rising writer Loverboi Muziq for a spiritually-charged Afro-House cut.
Afro-House & 3-Step Producer/DJ DJ Subzer released his latest single “Ngenelela” on Friday, 26 June 2026. The track is co-produced by Pianola SA and features vocals from gospel veteran Andile Mbili and prolific songwriter Loverboi Muziq.
Born Sabelo Mana Khanyile in Ulundi, KwaZulu-Natal, DJ Subzer’s stage name is slang from his given name. What started with him drumming beats on school desks in primary school grew into a full career. After studying Civil Engineering at MUT in Durban, he dropped his first commercial release in 2020. Five years later, he’s still evolving his sound focused on Afro-House and 3-Step.
“Ngenelela” was born in the studio when DJ Subzer created a beat that called for spiritual lyrics. “I created a beat which required a spiritual lyric and it’s the creativeness of all the artists involved. The song was authored and arranged in the studio by the four of us,” he says.
The collaboration came together naturally. Both DJ Subzer and Pianola SA suggested Andile Mbili for his gospel background and lead vocals with Abanqobi’s Andile Mbili, and Loverboi Muziq for his songwriting speed.

DJ Subzer met Loverboi through Zeh McGebah while working on “Zulu”, and met Andile Mbili through Pianola SA during sessions. “Very easy and productive guy to work with – I think it’s just a perfect combo,” DJ Subzer says of working with Pianola SA. On the vocalists: “They played perfect roles in getting a song done.”
“Ngenelela” is also the first taste of DJ Subzer’s upcoming project. slated for August/September 2026. The EP will blend Afro-House and 3-Step and feature well-known artists across the industry. “This year we are reaching new heights,” he adds.
DJ Subzer’s catalog includes “Zulu featuring Zeh Mcgeba” and his highest-grossing track to date, “Enhle”. With Stronger EP on the way, 2026 is shaping up as his biggest year yet.
