Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are Vogue’s newest cover stars, landing the magazine’s Summer 2026 digital cover as newlyweds.
Shot by photographer Juergen Teller on location in Portugal, the newlyweds pose together for the cover, with Georgina wearing custom Gucci by Demna for the occasion. The pairing is being read as Vogue’s new head of editorial content, Chloe Malle, following in Anna Wintour’s footsteps by mixing expected names with surprise cover stars Wintour and Meryl Streep, and tennis star Aryna Sabalenka, have both had similarly unexpected turns on the cover earlier this year.
It’s the story behind the cover that’s got everyone talking. The wedding itself was an intimate affair, held at the couple’s home in Cascais at 13:30 on Tuesday, 11 August exactly ten years to the day after Cristiano and Georgina first met at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she was working as a sales assistant.
The guest list was kept deliberately small, with just their five children and four witnesses present. Vogue’s accompanying images show that although the ceremony itself was civil, the family also attended a mass to bless their union. The magazine’s photos also capture Georgina in high-end Chopard jewellery, both poolside and during the ceremony, alongside glimpses of her shoe collection and Cristiano’s rosary beads.
What's your hot take on this story?
For a couple whose relationship began over a decade ago in a Gucci store, marrying on that same date and having Georgina front Vogue’s cover in custom Gucci is the kind of detail that feels almost too perfectly written. From sales assistant to Vogue cover bride, Georgina’s journey with Cristiano has officially come full circle.
Not everyone in the fashion world is convinced by the cover itself, with some corners of fashion social media calling it more suited to a celebrity glossy than high fashion. For Ronaldo and Georgina fans, the story behind the shoot is the real headline.
