FEATURING BLUE PAPI, LOWFEYE & FRANK MABEAT
Durban-born singer-songwriter De Rose marks a bold sonic evolution with the release of her
debut hip hop single, “Easy,” featuring Blue Papi, Lowfeye, and Frank Mabeat. The single is
released under House of Kulture, bringing her music to a wider audience across South Africa
and beyond.
Known for her soulful lyricism and genre-blending sound, De Rose steps confidently into hip
hop with a track that is both sonically compelling and thematically sharp.
“Easy” tells the story of a man constructing a fabricated identity; falsely claiming
relationships and projecting an image that doesn’t align with reality. Confronted with the
question: “Now prove it,” he fails to back up his claims, and the truth begins to unravel.
“The song is about how lies only make things worse. To me, it’s a story every Kasi girl
should hear; watch out, he’s not who he says he is,” says De Rose.
The single explores themes of authenticity, perception, deception, and accountability,
highlighting the contrast between who we claim to be and who we truly are.
Anchored by confident verses, compelling features from Blue Papi, Lowfeye, and Frank
Mabeat, and bold production, “Easy” marks a definitive step forward for De Rose’s artistry;
one that speaks directly to contemporary life and culture.
Out Now: “Easy” is available on all streaming platforms.
