The state has outlined the outstanding issues delaying progress in the murder case of DJ Warras. The broadcaster’s life was tragically cut short on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, when he was killed in an apparent hit outside a hijacked building in Johannesburg.
Two suspects, Armindo Joaquim Pacula and Victor Majola, have since been arrested and charged in connection with the killing.
The duo returned to the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 1 April 2026. During court proceedings, the state indicated that its investigations were still incomplete.
The state indicated that several key aspects of the investigation remain outstanding, including financial records, facial comparison analysis, call data, cellphone downloads, and the drafting of the indictment. As a result, the matter has been postponed to 27 May 2026.
The matter was previously postponed to allow for further investigation, with the prosecution indicating that video footage, cellphone communications, and a ballistics report were still under analysis.

During Armindo Joaquim Pacula’s arrest, police reportedly discovered chopped-off dreadlocks and a bag allegedly used to conceal the firearm on the day of the murder.
Pacula’s lawyer previously told the court that his client intends to plead guilty but has requested access to the docket before proceeding.
