With 29 independently run hospitality venues and VIP marquees on site, choosing where to plant your heels for the day is half the battle. Here’s where to be.

BOOMTOWN: Still the #1 party marquee

BOOMTOWN is back for its 16th year and remains the marquee everyone name-drops first. Expect Mzansi’s top artists on a world-class stage and sound setup, plus a fresh perk for 2026: Castle Lite, Flying Fish and Brutal Fruit go complimentary from 5pm to 10pm. General access starts from R280 plus your separate Greyville entry, with VIP and VVIP tiers unlocking floored lounges, all-day buffets and bar packages that run right through to close of the event.

Saso’s: Defending champ, bigger production

Fresh off winning Best Marquee in 2025, Saso’s is doubling down with a lineup featuring Kabza De Small, K.O., DreamTeam, GoldMax, Sykes and Funky QLA. It’s also making history as the first Durban July marquee to host a MaXhosa Africa fashion showcase, with Moët & Chandon, Hennessy, Stella Artois and Mercedes-Benz all on board as premium partners. If you want luxury with a serious music pedigree, this is the one to attend.

Makubenjalo: Soweto glam meets race-day polish

The Soweto lifestyle brand’s Durban July Experience has become one of the most talked-about tickets for the weekend. Saturday’s lineup includes Boom Shaka, Kabza De Small, Boohle, DJ Stokie and DJ Sox, with gourmet three-course dining, an all-day Harvest Table and a complimentary bar tab until 4pm welcome drinks will be available courtesy of Martell and GH Mumm.
