Real Housewives of Durban star Jojo Robinson has revealed that she is facing one of the toughest battles of her life, after being diagnosed with invasive skin cancer. The reality TV personality shared that doctors discovered cancerous spots on her chest and back, warning that urgent surgery is needed and may even require skin grafts depending on how deep the cancer has spread.
“I found out a few weeks ago that I have skin cancer… they are invasive ones,” Jojo explained, admitting that the uncertainty has been overwhelming. “We don’t know how deep they are… I’m hoping they haven’t gone into the bone.”
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared just hours ago, Jojo revealed the emotional toll her surgery will take on her beloved back tattoo. “The last day my back tattoo will look like this. Tomorrow is surgery day where we remove the multiple skin cancers on my back, currently 6 all together,” she wrote.
She explained that large sections of her tattoo will be cut out, erasing more than 30 hours of painful work that went into building the piece. “Large sections of the tattoo will be removed and I have no idea what that’s going to look like.

Jojo further clarified: “Skin cancer is NOT linked to tattoos… It’s genetic. My mom has it and she has no tattoos. It’s also from UV exposure and the type of skin I have. The only downside for someone like me with tattoos is the havoc it would cause on the tattoos and what they will look like, but that’s the least of my concern.”
This latest revelation comes as Jojo also prepares for a kidney operation due to kidney stones, adding to what she describes as one of the most challenging periods of her life.
