As a mom, you quickly realize how fast kids soak up everything around them, and that’s exactly the spark that drove Ntando Duma to create Sbahle Siyakhula. Inspired by her own daughter Sbahle Mzizi, Ntando wanted to create a space that makes the everyday grooming routine a joyful, stress-free experience for young children. Following the massive success of her flagship location in the heart of Johannesburg, she is bringing that personal touch with a warm, beautifully designed new kiddies hair salon in Fourways Mall.

The heart behind the brand is right there in the name “While it operates as a specialized hair salon and pamper haven for little ones, it functions as much more than just a place to get your hair done. Sbahle Siyakhula features a dedicated “children’s stimulation corner” which is an interactive learning space packed with colorful flashcards, puzzles, and reading circles. A huge part of the magic is how the salon celebrates indigenous South African languages alongside English, ensuring kids see their own cultures reflected while they get pampered and play.

Setting up shop at Fourways Mall means parents can take a breather from their usual shopping routine and bring their little ones to a salon completely tailored to them. It’s a welcoming space where children can overcome the usual salon anxiety by diving into books, testing out educational toys, and being celebrated as mini VIPs. For Ntando, this project is deeply personal; it was actually a dream inspired by her daughter, and she has poured her heart into creating a supportive community of confident, happy children who love who they are.
