Romanda Hombir is a South African clinical audiologist, social entrepreneur, model, and community advocate who was crowned Miss World South Africa 2026. Hailing from KaNyamazane in Mpumalanga, Hombir reflects South Africa’s diverse multicultural background through her Swati, Zulu and German heritage. Crowned on Nelson Mandela Day at the Barnyard Theatre in Pretoria, her victory marked a significant milestone as she stepped into the role of national ambassador under the new leadership of former Miss World finalist Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala.
Beyond her presence on the pageant stage, Hombir is a dedicated healthcare professional. Having earned her degree in audiology and pursuing advanced studies at the University of Cape Town, she has focused her medical career on hearing health, early diagnostic interventions and clinical care for vulnerable populations, including senior citizens. Her clinical experience drove her to address systemic gaps in rural and underserved community healthcare, turning her professional knowledge into actionable community outreach.
Hombir’s philanthropic vision is embodied in her non-profit organization, the Caring Purpose Foundation. Serving as the core of her Beauty With a Purpose project, the foundation delivers mobile health screenings, literacy programs, nutritional support and youth skills development. In addition to her work in audiology and general healthcare access, she utilizes her platform to speak openly about key women’s health issues, bringing crucial awareness to conditions such as endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and uterine fibroids.
