Marking the debut release under Jacquel Dance, the newly launched dance imprint from TRESOR’s Jacquel Entertainment Group, “Naliya” blends African pop, electronic house, and soul-stirring emotion into a track that’s both intimate and expansive. It builds on Batundi’s signature style — a sound shaped by his journey through Goma, Nairobi, Kampala, and now Johannesburg.

“We spent many days building this track slowly and beautifully,” Batundi shares. “We focused on crafting melodies and placing words with intention. It was a patient, emotional process that truly reflects my spirit as an artist.”

Anchored by Batundi’s masterful production and elevated by Msaki and TRESOR’s unmistakable vocals, “Naliya” is a soaring tribute to love, heartbreak, and healing. It follows the legacy of Batundi and TRESOR’s earlier collaboration “Sondela,” pushing the boundaries of African dance music into deeply emotional territory.

Beyond the studio, Batundi’s credentials speak volumes. He’s co-produced “Fountains” by Drake ft. Tems and “We Caa Done” by Popcaan ft. Drake, and contributed to TRESOR’s Nostalgia, which won Best Pop Album at the 2019 South African Music Awards. As an in-house producer and engineer at Jacquel Entertainment, Batundi now brings his full artistic vision to life.

“This song is a celebration of love, healing, and lifetime connections despite the obstacles,” says Batundi.

“It’s an honour to create it with two of Africa’s greatest musical minds. This is just the beginning.”
