It is with great sadness to announce that Nyembezi Kunene, the veteran actor best known for his stage role as Jabulani Dlomo on SABC1’s soapie, Generations has suddenly passed on.
Nyembezi, who was recently on e.tv’s soapie, Scandal, was part and parcel of Generations before it became ‘’The Legacy’’ from 2007-2009, according to TVSA.
The news of the actor’s death surfaced from a post on Facebook by Kunene's son, Sonqoba, who reveals that his father died on Saturday night at Lesedi private Hospital in Soweto after a long battle with sugar diabetes.
Sonqoba posted: "May his soul Rest in Peace. You fought a great fight, a hero to the end. We will miss you Nyemza. This is the final curtain call, after decades spent entertaining South African audiences.
"You stayed true to your craft till the end. You were a great father and your teachings will live on, not only in your children's lives, but also in the lives of many your work and passion for the performing arts have changed. Hambe kahle Mntimande! Bambolunye! Ngwenya! Madonsela! Rest in Peace Baba. (sic)"
