It has been announced that award winning hip hop super-star Future will be headlining the MTV Africa Awards, as the international act. The awards ceremony will be held at the Ticket Pro Dome in Johannesburg, on the 22nd October 2016, celebrates all the top African talent across the continent.
As a bonus and follow up, from his show at the MAMAs, Future will also be staging a separate solo show, the venue for this has yet to be announced, where he will be performing his fan favourites hits such as Turn on the lights, Damn Time and Stick Talk.
Seems like 2016 has so far been a great year for the rapper who has seen his career rise higher and higher, after the release of his mixtape Purple Reign, which was promptly followed by the launch of his fourth solo album EVOL.
Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Viacom International, Alex Okosi, said the following about the rappers forthcoming performance and visit to the country: “Future has an amazing fan following in Africa and we are delighted that he will make his African performance debut on the MAMA 2016 stage in Johannesburg on 22 October.”
