The Simon ‘Mabhunu’ Sabela Film and Television Awards are aimed at honouring KwaZulu-Natal’s talent within a very competitive industry.
Held at The Playhouse in Durban, the awards are in their fifth year.
During the awards, popular Mzansi Magic soapie, Isibaya – swept the boards with Nomzamo Mbatha, Siyabonga Twala, Gcina Mkhize, Andile Mxakaza and Linda Mtoba, among others, bagging the awards.
The awards are organised by the KZN department of economic development, tourism and environmental affairs.
Simon Mabhunu Sabela, in whose honour the awards are named, was a legendary actor, director and producer.
