A Teaser Of Kendrick Lamar And J. Cole’s First Song Together Since 2013

As 2017 comes to a close, J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar wrap up the year with news like no other since the beginning of hip-hop music.

P.S: WE NEVER PROMISED GOOD NEWS!!

Fans have been frantically waiting for a joint album from the two most lyrically inclined rappers in the game. Bad news is, it sounds like we may have to wait a long time, another four years at least for that project as it turns out the two will be dropping at least one new single together.

Thanks to Jeezy, who teased a snippet of his track “American Dream” on Monday night (Dec. 11), Cole and K.Dot will be rapping together on their first single in nearly four years.

Jeezy previewed the new track during a listening party in New York City. From what fans can make out, the single sounds like a banger, with each MC laying down their respective flows. Jeezy also manages to sneak in a diss about Donald Trump while mastering the hook.

As mentioned, this is the first time Kendrick and Cole have been on a track since 2013. In 2015, the two released separate tracks entitled “Black Friday,” where they rapped over the instrumentals to each other’s biggest hits (Cole rapped over “Alright” while Kendrick rapped over “A Tale of Two Citiez”). Over the past seven years, the two have hinted at a possible collaboration album, but TDE’s Top Dawg has since diffused those rumors.

“American Dream” comes from Jeezy’s forthcoming Pressure album. Earlier in the month, the ATL rapper dropped the 13-song track list. The album reportedly drops this Friday (Dec. 15). In the meantime, check out the snippet of “American Dream” below.
