Not everyone will the use of a humidifier in summer because it obviously seems a bit ridiculous, but there a lot of benefits to it. You don’t only need to use Humidifiers in winter because they are effective for treating dryness of your skin, nose, throat, and lips.

Summer doesn’t always mean it’s time for fun activities and hitting the pool. Summer is the prime season for allergies. With all the bugs and pollen spreading throughout the air, it’s not uncommon to notice more runny noses than usual. On top of that, the constant use of an air conditioner can make the air dry.

To top it all off, they can ease some of the symptoms caused by the flu or common cold. The type of humidifiers you choose may depend on your budget, preferences, and the size of the area you want to add moisture too.

The different types of humidifiers you get:

Steam vaporisers: Heat water and then cool it before expelling it into the air. These are the most inexpensive portable ones.

Ultrasonic humidifiers: Produce a cool mist.

Central humidifiers: These are built into your homes air conditioning unit. They are the most expensive types of humidifiers and they’re the best choice if you want to add humidity throughout your home.

Evaporators: Evaporators blow moisture through a moistened filter and expel the humidity into the air from a single unit system. These home humidifiers are more affordable, but they only work in one room at a time.

    Possible risks of humidifiers:

Burns are the most common causes of injury and allowing too much moisture into the air can create condensation on the walls which can result in mould. Unclean humidifiers can cause bacterial growth which promotes coughs and colds. It’s important to clean the unit regularly to prevent bacterial growth. Wash the bucket and filter system every 2-3 days.
