IT’S A BREAK-UP, BUT SHOULD IT BREAK YOU?

Let’s face it, breakups are the worst experience one can ever go through, you may find yourself having genuine intentions with a person but it doesn’t mean that they share the same sentiments. Breaking up with your partner is not an easy thing to go through, especially if you’ve imagined a future with them. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always go the way we want it to go and we find ourselves having to end a relationship with someone for many reasons. Here’s why a breakup shouldn’t break you.

    Relationships are allowed to fail

Facing reality is one thing we cannot run away from, and the sooner we come to terms with a relationship ending makes it a lot better to start the process of healing. We all know that relationships end but we never think that it will happen to us but the truth is that we should be willing to let go of relationships that no longer bring us joy. Relationships end and that’s a normal part of life, it doesn’t make you or your partner a failure.

    You are worth more

There are a few points you need to understand when things didn’t go your way in a relationship, there has been a whole you before the relationship started and there still will be a better and wiser you even after the relationship has ended.. You deserve happiness and if the relationship brings only hardships, arguments and distrust, then it’s a good thing that you let go of it.

    The pain is temporary

Although heartbreak may seem like a long dragging process and the pain you feel after being dumped may be extremely overwhelming, trust me, it will also pass and it doesn’t last forever. You will heal from it and after a while you’ll get used to not having the person in your life. Be patient and allow yourself to go through all the different emotions. Remember, you don’t have to go through any of it alone

    You will move on

Although we try as might as we can to hold on to that person, eventually we will have to learn to let go. We know that most people who have experienced this feel like it is highly impossible to try moving on after a break up, you are somehow overwhelmed with that feeling of guilt, feeling like you are somehow doing wrong by moving on. You desperately want to show your loyalty by trying to stay right? Understand this, you will move on and find happiness.

It is not your fault when a breakup occurs, remember that and also keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with you or the person you are, letting go of something that you were once attached to can seem impossible but let’s not fool ourselves, it can be done.
