If you’re a huge sports fashion, then you have to get ready to lace up your sneakers because JD Sports is about to make its grand entrance into SA. The Foschini Group (TFG) has just signed an exclusive franchise agreement with the British sports-fashion giant.
The excitement is pretty high, however, the deal is not yet final as the company is still waiting for the green light from the Financial Surveillance Department of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB). Once that stamp of approval is secured, the rest will be history.
What this means, is that TFG is gearing up to roll out over 40 JD Sports stores across Mzansi over the next five years, bringing fresh global sports fashion right to our doorstep. This includes iconic brands like Nike, adidas, Puma, and The North Face, alongside JD Sports’ own killer private labels like Pink Soda and Supply & Demand.
The great part is that the waiting won’t be for long as the first store is set to open its doors before the year comes to an end.
If you are not familiar, JD Sports is a powerhouse of style and innovation which was founded back in 1981 by the dynamic duo of John Wardle and David Makin, JD Sports has since become a global phenomenon, boasting over 37,000 employees and a whopping 3,400 stores worldwide. Talk about spreading the sports-fashion gospel far and wide!
