Rare Beauty launches New Powder Blush

Whether you’re a makeup enthusiast or just dabble in it occasionally, you’ve probably heard of Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. This product has earned its status, with a whopping 6,100 people naming it their holy-grail blush in Cosmo’s 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Since its debut, the beauty world has been obsessed with liquid blush, and every brand has been trying to replicate the viral success of Rare Beauty’s highly pigmented yet effortlessly blendable formula. But hold onto your brushes, because Rare Beauty is stepping up the game with their latest addition to the Soft Pinch family: Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush.

“Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush is like the perfect marriage of Soft Pinch Liquid Blush and Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter,” reveals founder (and queen) Selena Gomez exclusively to Cosmopolitan. “It’s super-pigmented but also packed with these incredible pearls that add a glass-like sheen to your cheeks.”

The powder highlighter from Rare Beauty is a baked formula that gives skin a dewy radiance without accentuating texture. So you get the same silky, lightweight glow combined with the gorgeous shades of the original liquid blush.

“I personally love layering Cheer in our powder blush over Happy or Hope in our liquid blush to create a super glowy pink,” adds Selena.

Now, onto the product itself—it’s crazy blendable, crazy pigmented, and feels like nothing on your cheeks. Just sweep it on with a fluffy blush brush for buildable, luminous colour that effortlessly blends with whatever’s underneath (foundation, concealer, you name it). Selena loves how soft and fresh it looks on her cheeks during the day, but she amps it up for a more dramatic nighttime vibe. “I like to layer the powder over the liquid blush for an extra pop of colour and glow when I go out at night,” she spills.

But Rare Beauty isn’t just about slaying the blush game (although, let’s be real, they do that like pros). It’s also about mental health, with the Rare Impact fund helping people access mental health resources and break down the stigma around mental illness. This mission comes straight from Selena’s own mental health journey, which she’s been refreshingly open about.

Speaking of which, Selena’s got some sage advice for anyone looking to dip their toes into self-care waters: take it easy. “Start small and be kind to yourself,” she advises. “Self-care isn’t about making big changes overnight—it’s about finding little ways to prioritize your well-being each day.” For Selena, mindfulness practices like deep breathing and self-check-ins have been total game-changers. “And remember: Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness,” she reminds us.

    Wise words, Selena, wise words.
