Veteran actor and playwright Sello Maake KaNcube and his wife, Pearl Mbewe, have addressed the rumours of their marriage falling apart, setting the record straight in a heartfelt message that’s as real as it gets.
The rumours went into overdrive when reports surfaced claiming Sello had shown Pearl the door and filed for divorce. But Pearl wasn’t having any of it. Taking to Facebook, she poured her heart out, detailing her unwavering love and admiration for her husband. She wished people would cut him some slack, highlighting his exceptional qualities as a family man.
In her touching message, Pearl lifted the veil on their relationship, revealing the bond they have. “You have been to me what the world will never even begin to understand. How I wish people could just give you a break! In what may seem like me coming to your defense, the truth is being with you has elevated me to heights I never thought possible,” she wrote.
Sello echoed Pearl’s message, sharing her post and condemning the negativity surrounding their marriage. “It’s sad how people are so quick to judge. After all the bad comments and insults, the truth shall set us free! I have always, and will always honour my position as a man and husband,” he wrote.
This isn’t the first time Sello has had to defend his marriage against rumors. Last year, speculation ran rife about trouble in paradise, but the couple’s bond remains unshaken, despite them getting divorced.
