Back to the life of luxury cars, mansions and private jets as Bushiri and wife get R200,000 bail each

It seems like the prayers of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church members have been answered, as their leaders, self-proclaimed prophet, Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary have been granted bail of R200,000 each by the Pretoria Magistrates Court according to reports by EWN.

The prophet and his partner in crime, literally, are returning to their luxurious lifestyle which includes the impressive car collection. Bushiri , amongst other cars, owns a R10m Rolls Royce Black Badge, R6 million Bentley Bentayga Limited Edition and an Aston Martin One, which costs over R12 million.

A Facebook post by Zimbabwe Today suggests that Bushiri splashed a whopping $12 million, which equals R172m, on his mansion. Although the Bushiri never confirmed the price tag on his home, the photos showed it is likely worth a couple million. According to reports, Bushiri owns three private jets, which he bought over a period on two years. Talk about living the soft life.

Bushiri and his wife were arrested last month together with their three co-accused and they face fraud and money laundering charges related to an investment scheme valued at about R102m. Co-accused Landiwe Ntlokoane has also been granted bail of R100,000 while accused number two in the matter has also been granted bail of R20,000.

The leaders of the Enlightened Gathering Church spent two weeks behind bars since their arrest and their supporters have been gathering outside court since the beginning of the bail hearings, insisting he and his wife have done nothing wrong.

Today the supporters carrying portraits of the self-proclaimed prophet dropped to their knees outside court to pray for Bushiri. Others sang songs from behind wire fencing erected by police to keep the crowds under control.
