Meet our Miss South Africa 2019

After the long wait, South Africa has chosen a new queen to reign as Miss SA. Meet Zozibini Tunzi.

Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Miss South Africa 2019 at the Sun Arena in Pretoria on Friday the 9th of August 2019.

The 25-year-old natural beauty from Cape Town walked away with the title of Miss South Africa, as well as R3-million in prize money and sponsorships.

Zozibini is a working student. She works at Ogilvy Cape Town in an undergraduate programme for the PR department while studying at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, completing her B-Tech in Public Relations Management.

The reigning queen was born at Sidwadweni, Tsolo, in the Eastern Cape. She is very passionate about education as the social responsibility project as it has given her many opportunities and has opened many doors for her. She likes watching series or going hiking in her spare time.

Her role models are her parents. “My mother taught me the importance of being kind and humble and always helpful to those around me and my father taught me the importance of education, hard work and discipline,” – she says. She has three sisters, who she counts as her best friends.

On the day that she wore the Miss SA crown, Zozi took to Instagram and wrote; “Today is the beginning of the rest of my life. I’ve dreamt about it so many times but the reality of it all is much greater. So many Queens have come before me and I hope I continue the streak of amazing women who have contributed so much to society.

So here sits the crown, beautifully so on my kinky coarse hair. I hope I make South Africa proud. Thank you so much for all the love and support. Yours sincerely, Miss South Africa 2019.”
