Moja Love parts ways with Xolani Khumalo

Welcome to South Africa- a place where drug dealers run free and the people who make an effort to stop them face the fire.

The channel that is famous for cashing in on black people’s trauma, I mean, Moja Love, has announced that it has parted ways with one of their on-screen personalities, Xolani Khumalo in a press statement.

Wait, how are they parting ways one the one show that actually helped the country? The chat about the rest of the shows on the channel is one for another day.

“Moja Love has terminated its relationship with Mr Xolani Khumalo, presenter of one of the channel’s leading shows, Sizok’thola. The channel will not be commenting on any matters relating to Mr Khumalo and wished him the best in all his future endeavours,” the statement said.

It is clear that all they care about are ratings, and not their presenters. The second something goes wrong, the channel is first to pull the plug.

The news has been received with mixed reactions by the public with some saying the channel is being insensitive for dumping a presenter like he wasn’t hosting one of their biggest shows while others say they saw this one coming from a mile back.

Khumalo’s show, ‘Sizok’thola’ is a popular show on Moja Love that sees him and his crew raid various drug-infested areas. The show had South Africa sitting on the edge of their seats as they watched Khumalo risk his life week in and week out tracking down drug lords in the country, a task that the South African police dismally failed at pulling off.

Khumalo recently faced a murder charge after an alleged drug dealer was declared dead after being interrogated during the filming of the show and was then dropped off at the Thelle Mogoerane regional hospital in Vosloorus. Khumalo handed himself over to the police after the incident. He made bail of R20 000 at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

In other words, the presenter who isn’t a drug dealer, is fired for chasing actual drug dealers and is the same person who eventually hands himself in to police after the death of an actual drug dealer because now he is accused of murder? Please make it make sense.

Was it fair for Khumalo’s show to be canned from the channel? Did the show not make a significant impact on the country? Did Khumalo not risk his life for the safety of others? Did Khumalo not show what the South African police have been hiding all these years? At what point can we say that South Africa is safe? This is truly worrying.

In Khumalo’s famous words: “Don’t worry, Chief.” We’ll stay glued to the Xolani Khumalo Foundation for updates on what Khumalo is currently working on.
