Zahara’s reality show is set to continue airing for its second season. The conclusive decision about the late Bulelwa ‘Zahara’ Mkutukana’s reality show, “Zahara – As I Rise,” has been disclosed. The renowned singer, songwriter, and guitarist had aired the first season on SABC 1 before her passing. Zahara’s family has now confirmed the continuation of the second season of her reality show. Unfortunately, the award-winning artist passed away before finalizing the deal with SABC for the shooting of the next season.

Zahara, who passed away on Monday, 11 December 2023, after a brief illness, had intended to capture significant life events in the new season, including her lobola celebration. A family member, as reported by ZiMoja, stated that despite her untimely demise, the show will go on, shedding light on Zahara’s life both before and after her passing. There is hope that her fiancé, Mpho Xaba, will be given the opportunity to share his perspective on the events. He expressed, “She had intended to film the new season, capturing the lobola celebration and all its aspects. Unfortunately, she fell ill and collapsed on the day of the lobola, altering the course of events.”

Despite challenges, the SABC has approached the family, obtaining their consent to proceed with the show. A family member acknowledged the difficulties faced and mentioned the involvement of individuals like Vusi Nova, one of Zahara’s closest friends, providing valuable guidance. Zahara’s mother echoed the sentiment, expressing the family’s desire not to let her daughter’s story go untold. She mentioned ongoing discussions with SABC and highlighted their unfamiliarity with show business, relying on guidance from supportive individuals.

In a previous report from Briefly News, Zahara’s family revealed that she was admitted to the hospital two days after her lobola negotiations. The family claimed that she was robust before complaining about aches and pains, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding her health decline. The 36-year-old singer had celebrated the success of her negotiations with fiancé Mpho Xaba.
