Candid confessions. Quarantining amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has been stressful for everyone, and with many gyms and restaurants still closed, several stars have been honest about the weight they’ve gained while cooped up inside.
Take Kourtney Kardashian, for example. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wasted no time firing back at some Instagram users who questioned whether she was pregnant after she posted a series of bikini photos to the social media platform in May 2020. The E! personality already shares sons Mason and Reign, as well as daughter Penelope, with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick.
“This is me when I have a few extra pounds on, and I actually love it,” Kardashian responded while shooting down any pregnancy rumors. “I have given birth three amazing times and this is the shape of my body.”
Kardashian referenced her epic clapback about a week later during a YouTube discussion with members of her Poosh team.
“I commented back and said, ‘This is the shape of my body. I gained a few pounds over this quarantine time, and I love my body and I’m proud of my shape and I’m obviously posting it and this is the shape of my body,” she explained. “I don’t think I look pregnant at all.”
However, while some stars may have put on weight and others are wary of any extra poundage, data from Withings — the makers of digital scales — released in May 2020 showed that most people aren’t expanding their waistlines by much.
According to the France-based company, Americans gained an average of just 0.21 pounds in April 2020, based on anonymous data from more than 100,000 people via the brand’s wifi-enabled scales. Additionally, Withings found that only 37 percent of Americans gained more than a pound.

Cardi B has gained a little weight during the Coronavirus lockdown and she’s showing off her new curves in a series of bikini photos. First, the “Bodak Yellow” singer shared a video of herself with blue hair in an Instagram video where she spoke about her weight gain. She pointed out that her face is fuller due to her weight gain.
In a June 2020 Instagram Story, the “Yummy” singer shared a photo of himself wearing a baggy shirt and pants. “Puttin’ on some pounds,” he joked.
The Kylie Cosmetics creator didn’t divulge how much weight she’s gained while quarantined amid the coronavirus pandemic, but she did hint that she put on a few extra pounds in June 2020 when she posted a bikini selfie on her Instagram Stories. “OK, cutting off these quarantine pounds starting tomorrow,” she quipped.
“This is quarantine, and I have gained some weight, and my boobs are, like, really big now, which I’m loving,” the Siesta Key cast member told Us exclusively in June 2020. “I did not get a boob job.” The MTV personality previously announced on social media that she gained 15 pounds during self-isolation.
When Instagram users suspected the Poosh founder might be pregnant in May 2020 after she shared a series of bikini snapshots online, she set the record straight and declared she was “proud” of her figure. “We’re all shaped differently and that’s my body and I’m proud of it, so that’s how I respond to the negative comments,” Kardashian said in a Youtube video a week later. “It’s not always easy.”
The E! personality was also open about her quarantine diet. In a separate May 2020 YouTube video, she told her sister Khloé Kardashian that she’d eaten “four cakes in two weeks.”
In an interview for SHEIN Together, a virtual event held in May 2020 to benefit the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, the pregnant songstress poked fun at her totally normal weight gain. “I might be gaining the COVID 30 ’cause I’m eating for two,” she quipped. “So every week, I’m like, you know, different.”
“My husband actually just had the nerve to say to me that he thinks he’s lost weight since we’ve been quarantined at home,” the Wrong Missy star said in an Instagram video in May 2020 as she jokingly took a bite out of several pastries. “Good for you, sweetie. I’m so happy for you.” The model indicated she wasn’t afraid of a little extra weight in the video’s caption, writing, “The quarantine 15… bring it 🥐🧈.”
