The record held for the most Ace of Spades bottles bought at Konka nightclub, which is 16 bottles, has now been broken – the new record is 20 Ace of Spades bottles.

Since its establishment, this year, not a week goes by without the club trending. Last week, EFF CIC Julius Malema trended after taking over the ones and twos at the venue. Videos of the political leader were circulating all over social media throughout the week.
The nightclub has also become the go-to place for many celebrities, including Mamkhize, Kefilwe Mabote, and more.
Shutdown in June
In June this year, Konka temporarily closed its doors after the president announced level three restrictions.
“To assist the government in the ongoing fight against the Coronavirus, Konka Soweto will be temporarily closed with immediate effect until further notice,” their statement read in part.
