Wednesday Night’s episode of BET’s #BehindTheStory had the whole of Mzansi talking about one person: uBabes uBabes uBabes uBabes Wodumo!
The Gqom Queen sat down with Pearl Thusi for one of the most genuine interviews we have seen in recent weeks.

Babes didn’t hold much back as she spoke about how she wishes she knew more about the industry when she joined, her family, TDK (we’ll come back to that one another day!) and of course the infamous Mampintsha incident.
Right now, everybody is as confused about Babes and Mampintsha as we are and yesterday’s update did little to clear the air.

However, when Behind The Story aired on BET we finally got a glimpse into the madness that is Babes and Mampintsha’s relationship. The West Ink Boss, according to Babes, is full of love but is also full of pain and needs serious help.

Whether he will be open to getting it, is another matter. We can discuss Babes and Mampintsha another day, but one particularly eye-catching excerpt from the episode came when Babes was asked to confirm if she’s single and to our surprise she said to Pearl Thusi,
“Yes I am alone right now”.

When Pearl asked about “That Soccer player”, Babes claimed the alleged footballer “ran away” from her. The pair of them are most likely referring to Brilliant Khuzwayo, with whom Babes Wodumo was heavily linked in 2018 but those rumours didn’t go very far.

However, just because the footballer was out of the picture it didn’t mean that Babes didn’t have her eye on someone…she said to Pearl Thusi:
“I have a crush on someone Pearl, and you know him. You are well acquainted with him. He makes me melt, you know him Pearl. Yes I am alone now but I have a serious crush”.

Babes hinted that her crush was a musician because of all the references to him “performing” and “seeing him on stage”. While we have a few guesses, some members of black Twitter leaned in with a guess and speculated that it may be Cassper Nyovest.

We can’t speculate too much, but we do know that Cassper Nyovest has a thing for Zulu girls. The two of them have collaborated in the past but unlike Mampintsha, Cassper would never enforce himself onto every single one of Babes’ songs.

It’s still speculation at this stage but if it was to go anywhere, we’d be here for this romance!
