South African radio host and television presenter Anele Mdoda has reportedly landed a lucrative gig with a pay-television broadcaster, SuperSport.

The talented broadcaster is set to join the Randburg-based television station as she will host a brand new sports programme.

According to a social media commentator, Phil Mphela, he took to Twitter to make the announcement, saying Mdoda’s show will premiere at the glitzy and glamourous Durban July on July 2.

Currently hosting the breakfast show on 947, one of Johannesburg-based radio stations, the multi-talented personality will be joined by seasoned sports hosts and hostesses.

“The hosting team includes Neil Andrews, Motshidisi Mohono, Thato Moeng & Ayanda Thabethe. The show will premiere its first show live from Durban in July,” Mphela wrote onTwitter.

Mdoda recently signed a lengthy five-year contract with the Primedia Broadcasting music radio station last month.

The vivacious celebrity has been with 947 for 14 years and this year marks 20 years in the broadcasting industry and the television gig seems to put an icing on the cake.

The 38-year-old Mthatha-born disc jockey will be hoping to make her mark in the television industry, especially with one of the most loved stations in South Africa.

The Hollywoodbets Durban July is an annual event where celebrities, business people, and politicians converge to display their taste in fashion while enjoying the horse race.

Back in April, Mdoda shocked her followers when she announced that she will be taking a break from radio.

The award-winning radio host is scheduled to bounce back to her desk on July 01, in time for her newest gig at SuperSport.

She hosts the popular breakfast slot, Anele and the club, on 947 FM from Monday to Friday from 6 to 9 but Thabethe is now holding the fort in her absence.

While the Multichoice-owned station and Mdoda are yet to confirm the big deal, many social media users have also shared their thoughts on the reported appointment.
