After guiding their clubs to the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup finals, two South African coaches Pitso Mosimane and Mandla Ncikazi are nominated for top accolades.
The former Golden Arrows boss will now hope to bag his major accolade when it comes to continental football as he has been nominated in the same category as ex-Al Ahly’s Mosimane.
Ncikazi and Mosimane will look to get the nod and secure the 2022 CAF Coach of the Year Award and South Africans will be proud to see one of their own claiming it.

The lethal Namibia international stands a chance to bag the 2022 CAF Interclub Player of the Year Award.

Among other gongs for Pirates, the 1995 African champions stand to win none other than the 2022 CAF Club of the Year Award but they face stiff competition against Ahly, TP Mazembe, and Berkane among other nominees.
Despite steering the Soweto giants to the final, the club sensationally demoted Ncikazi to an assistant coaching position as they have roped in a Spanish manager, Jose Riveiro.
Meanwhile, the continental football governing body will announce the winners on Thursday, July 21 in Cairo and CAF said the nominees for the women’s categories will be announced in due course.
