    What to expect from Miss SA reality show, ‘Crown Chasers’

    Miss South Africa has revealed that their reality show Crown Chasers will soon be airing on SABC 3 (channel 193), and the show will be packed with beauty and glam.

    The beauty contest, Miss South Africa will be coming back to SABC 3 for the first time in 23 years, alongside their reality show – Crown Chasers. It was back in  in 1999 when Miss SA finale was broadcasted on SABC 3, and it was taking place at the Sun City Superbowl on the 11th of December with 26 finalists taking part. At the end of that night, SABC3 viewers watched Heather Hamilton from KwaZulu Natal be crowned Miss South Africa.

    This year we will be seeing a repetition of year 1999, as the finale will also be broadcasted on SABC 3 as well as the reality show. Episodes will be broadcasted weekly in the lead up to the finale on the 13th of August.

    Crown Chasers will be broadcast on SABC 3 on Sundays at 16:00 from the 9th of July. Hosting the reality series will be former Miss Universe (2019) and Miss SA (2019) Zozibini Tunzi, with a panel of judges consisting of Bonang Matheba and Leandie du Randt. There will be however, still be guest judges.

    Fashion designers Gert Johann Coetzee and Khosi Nkosi

    Miss South Africa 2010 Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala

    What you can expect from the show on the first episode is that the top 12 contestants will be revealed, and we will find out more on why they are competing to be the next Miss SA. Their first challenge in the form of a networking event as well as their first official photoshoot will be revealed. The finalists will then be introduced to the elimination stage where they have a chance to answer questions put to them by the judges.

    The second episode showcases the importance of being a South African ambassador outside local borders. The remaining 11 finalists will be tasked with creating a travel vlog of their experience in traveling internationally.

    The episode will showcase the ladies learning the importance of understanding business. Finalists will be introduced to MoFaya energy drinks and asked to create their own innovative energy drink can, while on the 4th episode the finalists will be taught the importance of understanding the vast cultures and backgrounds that exist in South Africa.

    The last final episode sets to showcase the importance of giving back. The remaining finalists are taken to Phefeni High School where, alongside the Imbumba Foundation, they talk about the importance of menstrual health as well as food security

    After Crown Chasers is broadcast, seven finalists will remain who will compete at the finale held at the SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria on Sunday 13 August.
