Cristiano Ronaldo sets record for 1000 career games unbeaten, with Al-Nassr secure 2-0 win against Persepolis

Tuesday night, Cristiano Ronaldo broke an impressive accolade as Al-Nassr triumphed in their AFC Champions League clash.

Before getting subbed off in added time, Ronaldo was on the field for 90 minutes, during his side’s 2-0 win over Persepolis.

The 38-year old Portuguese star did not make the scoresheet on the night, but he did however, manage to break an impressive record, once again. He recorded his 1000 game unbeaten (wins and draws) throughout his club and international career when he secured victory with the Saudi giants.

Ronaldo’s team impressively won 776 and drawn 224 during those matches. The team made their numerical advantage count against 10-man Persepolis in Tehran’s empty Azadi Stadium on Tuesday night.

Al-Nassr forward Sadio Mane said: “It was a good game, even though the first half was a little bit difficult for both teams,”

“We played good in the second half, we created some chances and we scored two goals and I think we deserved to win tonight.” – he added.

The game took place in an empty Azadi Stadium as a ban imposed on Persepolis by the Asian Football Confederation two years ago was enforced, depriving thousands of fans who have followed Ronaldo since his arrival in Tehran from attending.
