Men hold each other accountable at the Amatyma “Suits and Sneakers” event

TTMbha’s Amatyma hosted their first annual suits and sneakers event this past weekend, and different types of men from different walks of life came together for the big and special event.

The event took place in different cities, Durban on Saturday and Johannesburg on Sunday, and Entertainment SA had the privilege to be in the action on Sunday at Disoufeng in Soweto.

Men attended the event in their Sunday best. They were pampered. There was wine and whisky tasting offered. The MC at the event was Bongani Drama, who kept the guests entertained.

The founder and CEO of Disoufeng, Tebogo Phiri gave a warm welcoming speech, and he revealed that the aim when he and TTMbha started the movement, was to create a culture and an environment for men to not only meet on Father’s day or International Men’s day, but also creating clubs where men can meet regularly to discuss issues they struggle with.

Some of the speakers at the event included the legendary artist Lebo M, Simphiwe Ngema, Siphesihle Vazi, Nhlanhla Lux, Mzwandile Ngubeni, Eric Macheru, William Lehong and more. The media personality, Andile Ncube was also in attendance.

The were conversations centered around financial wellness, mental wellness, emotional wellness, as well as brotherhood, which , media personality, Toll Ass Mo strongly touched on. He reiterated that usually men have to deal with whatever they are going through all by themselves, and that needs to stop. A lot of men seemed to be in agreement with him. “One thing I can say is this majita, always protect yourself. Always know your moves. Always know where you’re going, where you’re coming from, who you’re with, and why are you with that person.”

TTMbha read out a pledge for all men to say against Gender Based Violence

Lebo M also called men out for being dead beat dads while they spend on “slay queens”, while neglecting their families for the sake of being seen with younger girls. “Where your sperm went, your check must follow.” was the quote of the day.

The event was about men telling each other difficult truths while building each other, and TTMbha rose to the occasion! congratulations on the success of the event.
