Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage recently shared the surprising inspiration behind her musical journey. Despite her initial passion for acting, Tiwa revealed in a candid interview with MTV that her path to music was influenced by a crush she had on a guy who was often surrounded by musicians.
“I have always wanted to do acting. Acting was one of my first loves before music. I got into music because I had a crush on a guy and he was always around the musician so I said ‘yeah, forget acting and just go into music,’” Tiwa explained.
Tiwa’s decision to pursue music over acting led her to become one of the most prominent figures in the Afrobeats scene. Her upcoming debut movie, ‘Water And Garri,’ set to release on May 10, 2024, via Prime Video, marks another milestone in her diverse career.
