A lot of artists have achieved the aim of filling up the TicketPro Dome, some of these being international or sometimes local acts. However, in those numbers, how many of those artists are gospel sensations? One? Two? Or maybe none? Whatever the number may be, add an extra one because DR. Tumi has fulfilled his quest to fill up the 20, 000 seater venue!
On Sunday night, (20 Aug 2017), Dr. Tumi became the first gospel singer, and the second African artist after rapper Cassper Nyovest in 2015, to fill the Dome for his Gathering of Worshippers concert.
Dr. Tumi says he is grateful for the support and hopes the feat gives other aspiring stars new hope.
“Filling up the dome is like filling another venue if you think about it could be the Lyric theatre or another small theatre,” said the gospel star who is also a qualified medical practitioner.
“It’s just about do you believe it can really be done and if you do you will do it, I want to do bigger. I want to do more, just so I can encourage somebody that you don’t have to limit yourself,” he said.
Gospel lovers and industry colleagues came out in their numbers to show their support.
