Writer and filmaker Charlie Vundla’s new movie Cuckold has been chosen to play at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival as an Official Selection next month.
This film reflects and revolves around the life and world of a young, black professor who is based in Joburg and struggling with alcohol and drugs.
When his wife dumps him for another man, he is then saved from his addiction by a former school friend, whereby he begins a journey to get his life back and also trying to save his house and his marriage.
Charlie’s debut feature film How to Steal 2 Million which got a lot of positive reviews and went viral in 2011.
He has been amazed by how his low budget film has been recognised by one of the most big film festivals in the world.
He wrote, acted and produced the film which also features Oscar winning actress Terry Pheto. Charlie plays the role of Smanga, with Terry as Laura his errant wife, on the other hand newcomer Louis Roux who plays Jon. Jeremy Nathan who is also the producer of the film said it was a huge honour to be selected for Official Selection in the film festival.
