Originally posted by Hollywood Unlocked, this iconic moment in TV history happened in 2003, when Bey appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show. In a mini tutorial for the audience, Bey stood up in a classy, nude-hued dress and heels to show Oprah how to hit one of her simpler dance moves. She accredited the move back to African culture where the hips are switched back and forth.
“It’s in the hips, it’s in the waist,” she explains before Oprah busts out with her own try. The legendary television hostess executed it so stylishly that the crowd burst with excitement as she and Bey rocked their hips to the groove simultaneously.
