The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning on honouring the late Queen Elizabeth II in their own way since they did not make the invitation list for the royal family’s forthcoming Balmoral Castle gathering.
Reports revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were left out of the invitation list for the royal family’s gathering at Balmoral Castle to honour the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Talking to Page Six, a source mentioned that the pair plan on paying their respects to the late Queen in their own way to mark the anniversary of her death on the 8th of September.
“They will of course acknowledge and pay their respects to Her Majesty in their own way,” said the source, confirming that the pair “haven’t received any information or invitation to plans marking the anniversary of her death.” The source noted that honouring the late queen is not a formal royal event.
Prince Harry’s His Royal Highness title may be have been removed from the royal family’s website, but seemingly, King Charles will not be stripping Harry and his wife Meghan Markle of their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles as a special gift from the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Another source told royal author Robert Jobson, the writer behind Our King Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed says Meghan’s title will not be removed even if she becomes President.
Jobson said: “I was at Royal Ascot the other day and I met a source, who is quite close to the Royal Family.”
“I said, ‘Well, what about all this stuff about stripping titles? If you’re going to have a President Meghan, then surely, they’re not going to want to have their royal titles and they will be kicked out of the line succession?’ I asked. And he absolutely categorically said, that’s just not going to happen,” Jobson continued.
