The billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, after making a unique proposal to global pop sensation Taylor Swift, and her fans are up in arms.

The owner of the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), went to his platform to recommended that Swift should consider posting her music or concert videos directly on the X platform.

It was on the 20^th of September 2023 when Swift took to X to unveil the back covers and tracklist of her eagerly awaited album, ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version). The album marks a re-recording of Swift’s original 2014 release, constituting the fourth instalment in her ongoing ‘Taylor’s Version’ series, following ‘Fearless,’ ‘Red,’ and ‘Speak Now.’

The campaign promotion for Taylor Swift’s album has been inclusive of initiatives such as collaborating with Google to create puzzles for her fans to solve. The resolution of these puzzles would lead to the revelation of previously unreleased tracks from ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version).’

While Tay Tay was promoting her album on X, Elon Musk made an unexpected and seemingly desperate plea when he wrote, “I recommend posting some music or concert videos directly on the X platform,” without providing further context for his recommendation.

Known as Swifties, Taylor Swift’s fans responded to the plea with both amusement and scepticism, with some jokingly suggesting that Musk was seeking clout from one of the world’s most influential artists.

As of now, it remains unclear whether Taylor Swift will entertain Elon Musk’s request to share her music on X.
