Mobi Dixon, born Mabi Ntuli, is currently hospitalized following a car accident last night on Grayston Drive in Sandton.

According to Mobi Dixon’s road manager, Amos Mwenda, the incident occurred around 8pm as Mobi was attempting to off-ramp on the highway. A Quantum taxi carrying equipment from a shoot allegedly skipped the traffic light, resulting in a collision with Mobi’s vehicle.

Footage from the accident scene obtained by the media shows Mobi Dixon’s car significantly damaged at the front.

The DJ had recently celebrated his birthday at Rockets in Menlyn alongside DJ Capital and Heavy K. A statement was posted on all of Mobi Dixon’s social media accounts, updating fans on the situation.

“Mobi Dixon is currently receiving top-notch medical care,” the statement read. “We extend our gratitude to the medical team for their support and professionalism, as well as to the family and friends who have stood by him during this challenging time.”

The statement also requested patience and privacy from both the media and fans, promising to provide further details when appropriate. Additionally, it announced the cancellation of all Mobi Dixon shows until further notice.

This incident follows a troubling encounter last year when Mobi Dixon was allegedly harassed and assaulted by a guesthouse owner in Bloemfontein. The altercation occurred after a woman, purportedly the owner, demanded the departure of Mobi and his team from their reserved room without valid reason or authority. Despite the ordeal, Mobi Dixon managed to retrieve his wallet with the assistance of his management team.
