Penny Ntuli’s arrival at Jozi FM has stirred up some mixed feelings with her new colleagues. She’s basically the new Kim Kardashian at the station and everyone is hating on her right now… but it kinda was expected, wasn’t it?
According to ZiMoja, the former Gagasi FM presenter, known as Mapeniza, might be ruffling feathers with the special treatment she’s receiving since her arrival.
Ntuli, who recently joined Jozi FM after leaving Gagasi FM due to salary disputes, is reportedly being treated like royalty at the Soweto-based radio station. Sources reveal that the station’s CEO, Mpho Mhlongo, goes out of his way to drop her off and pick her up from work, even waiting for her to finish her shows.
While some appreciate the buzz Ntuli has brought to the station, others are not thrilled with the preferential treatment she’s receiving. Her presence has attracted a slew of visitors, including fans, sympathizers, and even politicians like the IFP Youth Brigade. Award-winning gospel singer Tina Zungu has also been spotted at the station.
The concern among some staff is that this treatment sets a precedent for future hires, potentially leading to a culture of favouritism. Taking her to restaurants like Disoufeng and other popular spots in Soweto has raised eyebrows, with some fearing it could create an expectation of similar treatment for other new hires.
Mhlongo confirmed that Ntuli is picked up from her home by drivers due to her unfamiliarity with Soweto, but did not comment further on the matter.
