We are quite sure that most of us would agree that marriage a gift from the Almighty, a commitment that propels humans to live an honest life with one partner.

However, no matter exciting it is to say ‘’I do,’’ marriage can sometimes bring out the worst and the answer to this is the big d-word…Divorce. No matter how ‘’cute’’ or ‘’ncoo’’ a couple may look, sometimes marriage just doesn't work out for them

Look at the following celebrities favourites who settled for divorce and left us heartbroken and asking ourselves why:

Winnie and Nelson Mandela (R.I.P):

The pair has been through a lot together, from fighting shoulder to shoulder against the apartheid regime to facing the difficulties of staying loyal to each other when Mandela faced prosecution. If only we could turn back the hands of time.

Sonia Mbele and Lesley Sedibe:

Don’t you just wish this two could really try to mend their broken marriage? Looking at their wedding pictures, it would be an understatement to say their wedding day was beautiful. We guess all good things come to their end.

Sophie and Themba Ndaba:

These two were married from 1994 to 2007, in our eyes, they were perfect candidates for a South African version of Romeo and Juliet. Lord knows what went wrong.

Leleti Khumalo and Mbongeni Ngema:

Although Leleti is a happily married woman now, we can’t help but gush over her previous union with playwright Mbongeni Ngema. The two met during the production of  Sarafina! , got married and now are divorced.

Uyanda and Sisa Mbuli:

 These two made love seem a fairy story, especially with their elegant dressing game. Unfortunately, they also headed to the divorce court and since then there have been many legal battles between these two.
