Barea, as they Madagascar national team have come to be known, came into the tournament as heavy underdogs and being placed against the likes of Nigeria and Guinea did not seem to be helping their cause.
But two wins and a draw all but ensures they are top of Group B and their final game of the group stage ended in style as they broke down a star-studded Nigerian outfit.
Kenyans are fresh out of an emotional high following the stunning comeback against Tanzania in a mouth-watering Group C tie which placed Harambee Stars’ fate in their own hands.
Because they are currently on a roll, Kenyans could not help but take a dig at their Nigerian counterparts following the defeat to a team which was little-known, coming into the tournament.
In a series of troll tweets seen by TUKO.co.ke, netizens went all in on Nigerians as everyone had a nice laugh about how tournament favorites could fall short on such a crucial tie.
Nigeria will be pleased however, that they already secured qualification to the next round courtesy of back to back wins in their opening two games. They however face an uphill task as finishing second means they will be drawn against a tougher opponent in the knockout stages.
