When a woman of God with a nightingale’s voice that entertains a religious soul goes through hardship, fans worry and gossip tastes sour.

One small example is that of gospel singer Montana Mhlongo. Last week, news broke out of how she desperately wanted to give her husband a child after a number of miscarriages.

She was admitted to the King Edward hospital in Durban last Sunday after complaining of excruciating stomach cramps. It was discovered that she had an ectopic pregnancy outside the womb and in her fallopian tubes. Bear in mind that this was the third time she lost a child.

Here comes the good news that’ll make you want to sing ‘’storm is over.’’

‘’I’m glad I’m still alive and kicking. Before the operation a lot of thoughts came into my mind and the worst was that maybe it was the end of my life,’’ she said.

She said now that she is out of pain, she is confident that she would bounce back and continue with her music career.

However, she said the trauma and sadness from losing her third child would forever haunt her.

‘’The doctors gave me hope and said I would still be able to have children because they cleaned my womb.

They said it would not affect my ability to get pregnant again,’’ she said.

She added that her mum and husband who happened to be overseas for work commitments, were a pillar of strength.

‘’The spirit,’’ she says, ‘’is to never give up trying to conceive.’’ Talk about some real positive inspiration!
