Nasty C’s videos are disqualified from the SAMAs and Dr Malinga celebrates!

The South African Music Awards (SAMAs) event organisers caused a stir on social media after it announced that two of Nasty C’s videos, ‘Good Girls’ and ‘Don’t do it’ have been disqualified because they do not meet the criteria for Best Music Video category.

The event organisers said in a statement that although the videos were submitted for entry on time, they did not air before the closing date as per required by SAMA rules.

“Our investigations have revealed that the videos were submitted for entry on 24 January 2017. We have further determined that the videos were not flighted before the closing date of the entries of 31 January 2017 as required by the SAMA rules.

“In light of this, the two music videos are automatically disqualified because they do not meet the criteria for Best Music Video Category,” organisers said in a statement.

With Nasty C out of the category, fellow rapper Kwesta takes the lead with the most nominated artist of SAMA 23 with his six nods.

As news broke out of Nasty C being disqualified from the Best Music Video category at this year’s SAMA 23, Dr Malinga couldn’t help but celebrate and ‘’thank God’’ for his miracles.
