Last night saw the official premiere of Queen Sono – Netflix’s first-ever African-original series, starring the fiercely beautiful, Pearl Thusi. As usual our celebrities saw this as an opportunity to dig in their closets and pull out their most glamorous and dazzling outfits for this historic premiere.
The series focuses on the life of a highly-trained South African spy, as well as the struggles she faces in her personal life. We think Queen Sono is bound to be a hit, and we are READY for it!
The premiere of this highly-anticipated Netflix series had many familiar faces, and all looking GEWD. Sho Madjozi, Nadia Nakai, Kim Jayde and co. dressed up and showed up, and we’re going to give the viewers at home a little run through the evening’s best red-carpet looks.
The most GLAMZY red-carpet looks at the Queen Sono Netflix premiere
Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa
We. are. shook! Enhle came and totally shattered all expectations. Her outfit was amazing, and we are sure everyone felt the same. The unique silhouettes is something completely different, but it all WORKS
Nadia Nakai
Excuse us while we gush over Nadia’s outfit. Like, has she ever looked that good? HER BODY! We are shook. Her emerald green dress saw a great choice of colour and props for the fringe detailing. Overall, a fire look.
Pearl Thusi
Let’s start off with the woman of the hour, our own cover girl, Pearl Thusi. She looked like a million bucks in a gorgeous silver gown with a lotta leg and matching, strappy silver heels. Long live our QUEEN!
Sho Madjozi
Sho Madjozi attended the event with the coolest and most colourful hairdo, and provided us with some serious hair inspo. She rocked this season’s hottest trend, puff sleeves, in the form of a super-cute mini dress, and accessorised with retro sunnies.
Nomuzi Mabena
Moozlie did not disappoint AT ALL. Her face was beat, her accessories were on point (we spy her wearing two of 2020’s biggest accessories trends!), and now we have total bag envy. It’s clear the suits are a big go-to on the red-carpet at the mo and Moozlie was living proof. Her crisp white suit and simple Louis Vuitton touches (cute belt and bag), just made the look work.
Jessica Nkosi
Jessica looked striking in a fitted blazer dress. This yellow hue is such a complimentary colour on her, and she just popped on the red carpet. Her nails we also DID, and her natural make up was nothing short of gorgeous.
COSMO Girls
Are we allowed to hype up our own COSMO queens? Digital Director, Jaime Waddington, and Social Media Manager, Ashleigh Engel, repped at the Queen Sono premier looking très fashun in printed looks — bold graphic prints for Jaime and chic scarf prints for Ash.
It’s safe to say that everyone who attended the premier looked worked overtime in the style dep. And, exciting news — we can now binge watch Queen Sono on Netflix! We have no doubt that this African-original series will do amazing things for the continent, and we commend Pearl Thusi and the entire cast
