Gone are the days when we used to come across the word ‘beef’ and think of a Steerz commercial. Nowadays, when we come across that term we pray and hope it’s not our celebrities trying to mark their territories in the industry.

Sadly, we can’t prevent the inevitable as a catfight between two of Mzansi’s well-known presenters, Pearl and Bonang is far from being over.

According to reports, Pearl and Bonang’s feud began when Bonang was chosen for the Revlon deal over Pearl and the two have been throwing shade at one another since then.

Speaking to Gareth Cliff on Cliff Central earlier this year, Pearl explained why she’s had a hostile attitude towards Bonang. "It’s a thing of finding out the stuff a person has been saying or doing without you even knowing. You know like a 'snake in the grass' type of thing, where you’re like… ’Hawu, I thought we were indifferent about each other'.

"Because we were like kind of cool with each other, hanging out in London during that Pharrell thing and then break-ups happen and then you find out things from the people who shouldn’t have told you about those things, and you’re just like, ‘Wow! You’ve dogged me so hard!'’

Celebrity feuds can be quite puzzling at times, instead of channelling that energy into the leadership crisis South Africa is facing today, they would rather take to social media and waste it all on airing each other’s laundry.
