    “Let the young man shine”: Cassper Nyovest speaks up for Costa Titch

    There has been a big debate a huge debate on social media on whether or not Costa Titch is authentic or not, and whether or not he is trying to copy the house muso, Focalistic. Cassper Nyovest couldn’t hold himself from standing up for his former dancer.

    The dancer now turned rapper recently featured on a house track by Alfa Kat titled Yebo Malume, which was a remix. The conversation started when a Tweep captured a snapshot of the music video of the song where Costa Titch was rapping in vernacular and dancing. The user seems to be a fan as the caption was written “You actually can’t hate Costa Titch”

    Twitter was divided in half as users felt like he is trying to steal black people’s culture. After a questioned was posed by Zkhiphani Twitter account asking “What are your thoughts on Costa Titch? Many are labelling him as a cultural appropriator, do you agree?” Cassper jumped in on the debate to speak up.

    Responding to the Tweet, Cassper said he vouches for Costa being a real one. “As much as the conversation is important, I don’t think Costa should be the face of cultural appropriation. He just a young kid who loves our culture and they having fun. The politics kill things before they start. Let the young man shine.” – he wrote.

    Rapper Stogie T also spoke up for the young man, as much as he not really a fan. He Tweeted: “I am not a fan of Costa Titch but trust me Ain’t nobody going to tell us he stealing culture. You mahfahkahs let people jack actual songs from artists without saying shit and you mad at young boy for living his dream. Nah! I ain’t for that!”


    Costa Titch gained fame in the music in the SA music industry when he did Nkalakatha, then just before he released his debut album titled Made In Africa, he released a hot track called Thembi, which featured Boity.
