My husband sometimes wets the bed and now I can’t take it anymore, should I leave him?

Hello Uncle T, I am a 39-year-old married woman who lives in Johannesburg with my husband of 8 years and 2 kids. I am writing to you because I have a problem with my husband who still has a problem of wetting the bed at the age of 42 years.

I didn’t have a problem with that until I was told that there was a rumour doing the rounds in my street that my man is sick, that’s why he wets the blankets. I know I should be helping him, but I am tired of waking up every now and then to wash the blankets of an old man’s urine.

What bothers me the most is that if I do not wash them, he gets angry and starts calling me useless. I am sick and tired of this, please help! Anonymous – Johannesburg.

    Hello there,

I’d like to remind you that; in the middle of a struggling marriage, it’s very easy to focus on what’s wrong instead of sitting down and fish for solutions.

Clearly you husband’s situation is a medical condition that needs a doctor’s attention. What you should be doing now is encouraging him to seek help and find a solution for all of this. There are worse cases out there that married couples are struggling with, are you telling me you want to lose what you built all these years over some wet blankets?

Marriage is a sacred vow between a man and woman, that is why I would advise you to stay clear of circulating rumours around your community because people will do whatever it takes to destroy what you guys have.

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can a man who doesn’t wet the blankets, only a willing heart can quench love and build what many call the ‘’impossible’’, ETERNAL LOVE.
